Description: The RIBA test is recommended as a confirmatory measure for low risk clients (refer to Hepatitis C information section for a description of high risk groups) that have a positive Hepatitis C Antibody test. Turnaround time is typically 1-3 business days.
Incubation Period: The incubation period is usually between 4-12 weeks. In rare circumstances, it could take past 6 months to be detectible.
Early detection is important so that treatment may begin as soon as possible and assist with delaying the onset of serious complications. In addition, knowing your status will enable you to take the necessary steps in preventing the transmission of Hepatitis C to others.
